District Youth Affairs Peshawar In Collaboration with Grow Up & Social Welfare Society Khyber Medical College successfully organized an awareness session on Climate Change and Disaster Management on 23rd Oct, 2025.

The session featured insightful talks by Professor Dr. Khalid Khan, Captain of Planet Pulse, Chief of Climate Action, and Advocate for Climate Justice, who spoke on “Climate Calamity and Care: Building Resilient Health Systems in a Warming World.”

Dr. Rabia Gul, a Human Rights Activist and PhD, as well as a specialist in Gendered Leadership in SMEs and Gender and Climate, delivered a talk on “Youth Engagement in Climate Change.”

The event was graced by the presence of Professor Dr. Mahmood Aurangzeb, Dean of Khyber Medical College, who appreciated the initiative and shared his intent to incorporate elements of climate awareness and environmental health into the national medical curriculum to strengthen future healthcare responses to climate challenges. He also encouraged students to contribute actively, in every possible way, toward mitigating the impacts of climate change. The event was attended by the Chairman SWS, Dr.Fida Hussain and Staff Directors including Dr.Romana Ayub, Dr.Imran Khan, Dr.Sadia Ashraf, Dr.Hina Salman, Dr.Samra Fakhar and Dr.Ali Ashiq Hussain.

The event was also honored by the presence of Mr. ZabeehUllah, District Youth Officer, whose attendance added great value to the occasion and reflected the continued support for youth-led environmental awareness initiatives.

The session aimed to raise awareness among students about the growing climate crisis, its health implications, and the proactive role youth can play in promoting resilience, sustainability, and collective environmental responsibility.
