To mark the solemn occasion of “Exploitation Day” on August 5th also observed as Kashmir Day the District Administration and the District Youth Office-Dir Upper organized a poignant ceremony and solidarity walk at the Deputy Commissioner's Office. As per the directives of Deputy Commissioner Upper Dir, Mr. Naveed Akbar, the event was led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning, Mr. Umar Bin Riaz.

The ceremony attended by a large gathering of officials from various line departments, teachers, students, civil society members, and media representatives, began with the rendition of the national anthem. A minute's silence was observed to pay respects to the oppressed Kashmiris. To express solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers and sisters, participants formed a human chain and participated in a walk from the Deputy Commissioner's office to Paraw Bridge, raising slogans in support of Pakistan and Kashmir while demanding the right to self-determination for the oppressed Kashmiri people.

In his message Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning, Mr. Umar Bin Riaz highlighted the purpose of Exploitation Day emphasizing the need to draw global attention to the Kashmiris struggle for freedom and the atrocities committed by Indian forces. He urged the international community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.

The event concluded with heartfelt prayers for the oppressed Kashmiris reaffirming our unwavering support and solidarity with them in their quest for justice and freedom.
